(SEE BELOW TO A DIFFERENT POST)


My brother stayed in his house in New Orleans.  Why?  I don't know why.  But the last time I had heard anything about him was from a little bit before the worst of it started.  A branch flew through his kitchen and a tree fell on the house next to his.  I don't know how to stop worrying - my whole family is worried also. 


I got his answering machine on his cell phone - but no him. 


Any words of comfort from you all?

I'm praying for him and all those still in the hurricane's path.  Hurricanes suck, but I went through 3 last year and was fine.  As long as he takes basic safety precautions he should be okay.  I hope he's safe.

I hope so too -- I am so sorry you & your family have to go through all this worry! My guess is the storm is messing with cell phone service, too, so he probably just can't get ahold of you. My prayers are with you.

Pepper, if it makes you feel better, I can't get through to my mom or dad (different places in Hammond which is about 50 miles from there) either. I keep getting an "all circuits busy" message when I call their houses & different screwed up messages from the cellular companies when I call those numbers. So it's definately hard to get through. I talked to my sister for about 15 minutes, she said she couldn't get through to anyone else but it let her dial long distance to me in Dallas - we were thinking she could call me back & she was supposed to but never did - I really think she just got lucky & got through to me.

I know you are worried - I am too, but try to calm down. I'm sure he will call as soon as he can. Just remember that just because he isn't calling doesn't mean something is wrong. He is probably just as worried as you are that he can't get through.

I'll keep you in my thoughts & prayers.

My sister contacted me to say she finally got through to him and he is fine.  I feel so relieved.  Thank you Thank you again for all your kind words.

Hey Pepper I'm so glad that your brother is ok.  I have finally talked to all of my people in LA and MS and so far so good.  There is just my one friend who can't get her parents on the phone and they live in Ocean Springs, MS (between gulfport,ms and mobile, al) so I keep calling her to check up but its hard for her  because she is stranded in houston and can't get home or anything.
