Bra help!! Please...
Permalink Closed

Okay I am totally fed up with my bras (which I usually get from stores like Kohl's, target, walmart). They never really fit right. Now I must warn you...I am chestfully gifted (as my husband would say!) but to me its a pain in the ass. I am a 40D but petite everywhere else. So it really is a hassle. I really need help or recommendations on where I can find some really great-fitting bras that last and are not too expensive (under $40) and are not grandma-ish. Thank you ladies!!

Wacoal is good for well-endowed ladies like yourself .  You can usually find them at TJMaxx and Marshalls for $10-$15 a piece.

have you thought about getting fitted or going to a specialty store? if you are not satisfied with what you're finding and you've got a unique body shape.. maybe you should go to a store that does fittings or carries a super wide range of bras.

i love this store: la petite coquette
i looked in the "melons" and "grapefruit" sections and there were some options that seemed functional yet beautiful.

I just discovered Gap bras this past week and love them. I was seriously surprised at how well they fit. I'm at 34D so I'm pretty big on top too. I just went in and tried on every bra they had, actually had a hard time narrowing it down to just 4. I've always been a VS girl but I think I've been converted.

It might be out of your price range ($45), but they lasta long time if you take care of them

The Victoria's secret IPEX. I am a 34C (a bit smaller, but big for my body size) and I am obsessed with these bras.  They are like wearing a bra that is not lined or padded, but it has just enough lining that you won't get caught with your highbeams on! Its specifically in the middle where the nipple is so that larger ladies don't have to look any larger!

They come in full coverage and demi in the angels or body by victoria styles.

Its worth the money to have a good bra!

I'm a 36D, and I've had the most success at JCPenney's, specifically with the Delicates line of bras.  I used to wear Olga, but they tended to just smash my boobs down.  The Wacoal line was a good suggestion.  They didn't really work for my needs, but the fabric is definitely nice, and they seem well-constructed.

I also like Wacoal (I'm 38D).  I've been buying them at Nordstrom Rack for around $20 each.  I'll have to check out some of the other suggestions too.

Before the reduction (was 34DD, now 34B) I swore by Lilyette minimizers.  Not beautiful, but not quite grandma.  The thing was, they were the only bra that fit that didn't give me bulges, and also because my frame was small for my boobs, I needed a minimizer.  I don't know where you stand on the minimizer thing, but it was a lifesaver for me. Never found another bra I liked as well.  Hate molded cups and bras with too-narrow  bands.  A big chest needs a wide band to anchor the weight or the boobs and also to smooth any potential back fat.

wow! Thanks everyone. I really appreciate all your suggestions. I'm going shopping this weekend....heehee I love excuses to drag my husband, even though he'll be attached to his PSP listening to his podcasts.
