STYLETHREAD -- LET'S TALK SHOP!

I had my tonsils out on Friday.  Friday when I got home from the hospital and also Saturday and Sunday I was doing pretty well, I was even able to go out both days for a couple of hours.  Since then, I have gotten progressively worse.  I think maybe it's because I've been alone a lot and having to take care of myself which has been really hard and depressing.  My mom is coming tonight to take care of me, so I'm sure that in itself will help to have someone here all the time.

My question is - if you or someone you know has had this done - how long did it take before the pain started decreasing?  It seems like mine is getting worse, not better as the days go on.  It's probably not worse, but just feels like it because I can't remember the last time I felt okay.  Tomorrow it will have been exactly one week, and I just really thought I would be feeling better painwise by now.  I mean it has consistently been a 10 out of 10, and even the pain prescriptions don't seem to be as effective, probably because I've been using them for a week. 

Sorry for such a long post, but any insight would be really appreciated, I really don't know what to do at this point, but at least if I had some idea timewise I think it would make me feel better to know how much longer it will be this bad.
