Jewelry advice needed.
Permalink Closed

For my 30th birthday/having a baby my parents want to buy me a nice peice of jewelry - I want to get something that I can hand down to my daughter on her 30th birthday - the problem is I have NO clue what to get.

My husband bought me diamond earrings last week for our one year anniversary...plus over the years he has bought me really pretty necklaces...so I was thinking maybe a bracelet?

I don't know - any suggestions...I'm really stumped!!

I like the idea of pearls - very classic and easy to appreciate regardless of what your style is.

I really like the second one that LMonet posted!

Here are some other ideas:

I love the mix of metals in this bracelet.

I definitely think something Tiffany is the way to go!

Here are some other options if you're not into Tiffany:

I agree that Tiffany's is best.

I liked the 3-stranded pearl bracelet - that seems like the most versatile, somehow.

I kinda like the idea of a locket bracelet or charm bracelet so you can add your own personal touch to it:

I also like this necklace that nyla posted:

LOVE the 1st ring (coral and diamonds?) that Nyla posted. So beautiful and simple enough to last through trends and be classic.

Um I'll take one of everything please! I love it all!

I was thinking of a charm bracelet actually - so funny you should mention it FP - I just wonder - am I too old for one? I always thought that you get charms as you go along - like sweet 16, graduation, etc...

I definitely don't think you can be too old for a charm bracelet. Yes, super-cute charms might look funny, but classic ones are beautiful and timeless/ageless.

JMR, I don't think you're too old for a charm bracelet at all! Charms are a classic now for all ages.

LittleSinner, yes, that's coral and diamonds. I think I'll be snapping that up myself in the near future.

I think a good quality tahitian black pearl necklace is timeless. Just a single pearl on a necklace is something i yearn for.

This is so classic and beautiful. Or I like the idea of black pearls, too.

You are never too old for a charm bracelet!!! I think that would be really good espcially if you will pass it down to your daughter! She will have something to always remember you by!! You could ask your parents for the bracelet and maybe with 3 -5 charms to get you started!

Honey,

Nice Black pearl choices. They just have this mysterious quality about them.

MIZUKI

I also like the designer Mizuki. She has some really unique pieces. Here is a sample of one of her designs. Some of her designs are on fragments.com. It may not be classic enough for what you are looking for but definitely something different without being trendy.

I saw a girl wearing this necklace today and it was stunning.  Really simple but very elegant.
