Two of my very $$ Trish McEvoy brushes to be precise. They shared a makeup bag on the flight to NM with my nailpolish, which leaked, soaked them, and dried. A blush brush and the laydown brush. Should I risk polish remover? I guess I might have to buy new ones anyway so might be worth the gamble. Other ideas? Help!

Oh no! That's horrible! Personally, I'd go ahead and say they're ruined. You could try remover, but I think that's just going to make it worse. I could be wrong, I'm no Martha Stewart!

why not experiment w/ the remover? if they're ruined, they're ruined but you could at least try to salvage them so they can be used as last resort or back up brushes or something.
i'd fill a little cup w/ nail polish remover and let them soak till the nail polish desolves and keep repeating the process until it's all out. maybe they won't be the softest brushes after all is said and done but again, what do you have to lose at this point?
Yay, I think nail polish remover will strip the bristels of their natural oils and make them course and brittle, which probably wouldn't be the best thing to brush/rub on your face. But what'd got to lose at this point.
This might be a long shot, but what if you stuck them in the freezer for an hour? It might allow you to scrape the polish off w/out harming the brushes. I think if you use the remover & manage to succeed, the brushes will still be dried out & possibly shed down the line.
I've got Trish brushes, so I totally feel your pain. Good luck.
Have you tried shaving cream? I know this sounds weird but I spilled nail polish once on my carpet and I sprayed shaving cream on it, let it sit for a couple of minutes then scrubbed a little with a towel....totally came out. And if this doesnt work, maybe try Oxi Clean? I think its like $7 or $8 bucks at the drug store and is way more gentle than nail polish remover. Nail polish remover will completely ruin your bristles (weaken them, make them fall out, etc.). HTH!
dc- i would ask some Trish McEvoy counter people/make-up artists and see what they say. i am sure you are not the only person that this has happened too. they might have some ideas for you!
