Favorite standard black work pant

I haven't been thrilled with my last several purchases of black work pants. Does anyone have a stand-out favorite?

I used to love Old Navy's yoga pants, but they changed the cut this year and I hate the fit. I hear that Lulu's are good, but they seem a little pricey for something I plan an getting sweaty in.

Eddie Bauer outlet has some nice ones. They are a blend of some sort that makes them stretchy and gives them a slight sheen.

They are also a decent rise which I like b/c who wants their underwear to show when they are doing squats?

I'm sorry, I'm looking for pants to wear to work, not pants to work-out in.

That's what I thought, but then I saw the replies so I decided I must have read it wrong. I have several pairs from VS that I like...I think they are the Marisa cut. One of them I've literally had for years and it's still retained it's shape and colour. My only complaint is that all the buttons need to be reinforced.

Oh, yeah, I see that now. Sorry.ashamed.gif

Ann Taylor has some nice pants that are lined.  I also saw some at the Limited that looked well made.

I think with pants it really depends on the fit, like jeans.  I have a flat butt so 99% of pants look droopy on me.  The Limited has a few fits to choose from and they do a lot of promotions for % off on their suiting items.

I like The Limited's black pants. I dry them on low so they don't shrink in the length.

Banana Republic Martin skinny pants - they're sort of a hybrid trouser/skinny, are very comfy and flattering, I get lots of compliments.  The model makes them look funny though.

Check Ralph Lauren or Calvin Klein. Both usually have good sale $s online.

Check New York & Co. I have had good luck with pants there lately and I can never find pants. One pair was a wider leg with a cuff and the other pair are actually pull on but I love them. Very comfortable and they look very polished.
