ugh...crappy weekend

So this weekend sucked. My 15 year old cousin was supposed to come stay with me for the weekend but she got really sick with a sinus infection and was told not to fly. Poor girl, but it gets worse from there...

Saturday evening we took our dog, Ness to an off-leash park, where we have taken her many times before. As soon as we got out of the car, she was attacked and bitten by a much larger dog. We got the dogs away from each other and checked her out but it was dusk, so we couldn't see much. We thought she was fine so the other dog's owner walked away without giving us any contact info. Once we got home we noticed a very large bite on Ness's side. Sunday am we took her to the vet and she ended up having to have a small surgery to clean up the wound, insert a draining tube to get rid of built up fluids and 3 stitches. Total: $468!!!  Now I have to see if I can find a way to track down this other dog owner and see if she will take some responsibility for this. I'm not holding my breath, though.

Then while Ness was at the vet hospital, we had owr new home inspection. Everything rated great except the main bathroom which was not built with the proper drywall (they used regular drywall not the water resistant kind) or grouted properly around the bath tub so water has leaked behind the tiles and melted the drywall. Cost to rip out and repair: around $2000. So now we have to re-negotiate our offer to consider the repairs and find a reputable contracted to fix it.

Ugh...It sucks.

Wow!  That is an awful weekend!  I hope your dog is feeling better!  That is super sh*tty of the other owner just to walk away!  Their dog shouldn't have even been at a dog park if it's aggressive--what if it had bitten a child?!?!

My weekend wasn't great either.  I tripped and fell down my driveway (I swear, I am the biggest klutz EVER).  I skinned my knee, twisted my ankle, and I think I re-tore my rotator cuff.  Great.

So it sounds like we both had crappy weekends!  I hope the issue with your house gets resolved.  It shouldn't be a big deal--the seller should deal with it and pay for it themselves, or you could just negotiate the price down $2,000 and redo the tile and drywall yourselves, saving you a bunch of $$$.  From what I understand, it's a bunch of work, but it's not difficult.
