Hehe--love the comebacks, jess and detroit (although SIL is very fit now, she used to be fat so it would really get under her skin)! It makes me feel better just to think about saying them. JMR--thanks for the sweet compliment, and thanks again everyone for your support! You guys are awesome!

your SIL and mine would get along. I think she lives for making underhanded comments to me. I do ignore her for the most part, but I don't think it really helps, though she's really volatile and it's probably a lot better than confronting her.

I try to remember that people who act that way have deep insecurities, and I try to feel sorry for her rather than hate her. You and your family are adorable, and she is probably just jealous.

You know, I'll bet this is why she is doing it. People probably made fun of her when she was younger, so she's trying to make herself feel better by doing it to your daughter.
