Hi all-

I'm going to an aven in a couple of weeks and need to order a dress online asap.  Since I don't have much time to look I want to go with something safe, and it would be nice if it were classic so I could wear it again.

I found this dress and want to know what everyone thinks:

this is the dress in black.  it also comes in navy, which i think i prefer (less mainstream), but can't get to post:

It has a bit of beading on the side.

Opinions?

That is some serious pretty there. I love it. I like the idea of navy too. Less expected than black.

SO pretty. Reminds me of Angelina Jolie.

I like navy the best but I don't think you can go wrong either way

I usually love navy & it's a beautiful shade here, but this dress I personally prefer in black - looks richer. I'd pick a different shoe, than on the pic - the model has very unflattering shoe to her toes...

I love it, so classic and elegant. I'd definitely go with the navy (although I'm a pale blonde and black is sometimes too harsh on me).

Wow - thanks, everyone, for the great feedback!  I just ordered the navy.  Second question - what color shoes and clutch?  I'm thinking some ype of silver or gumetal clutch and strappy silver shoes is all I can come up with.

Would black patent peeptoes be a huge no no with navy or does that not matter any more??  It's been a long time since I've had to dress up this much, so any help is appreciated.

Gorgeous - LOVE. I'm only into the black but that's because I hate navy - partly because of the accessory issue. I don't like black with navy at all. I suggest a nude shade or maybe champagne, and something bare that wouldn't interrupt the line of the slit.

I think navy is great with metals (silver, gold, gun mental, bronze ) & creams. I'd stay away from black patent - clashing in a wrong way. POst a pic of yourself later when you're fully dressed with accessories! EXCITING!
