You have one of those nights where everything seems to fall into place? Not boy/girl wise but just everything? I think tonight was one of those nights.


My friend Jim had a wine-tasting party and invited me, my roommate, and I invited a few of my friends (at his invitation, of course). Jim was a transition guy from awhile back. He and I hooked up a few times but it never amounted to anything because he's crazy and I was just looking for a guy to transition to the playing field with, if that makes sense. (He was the first guy I ever met on match.com when I decided to give the love life another go after the big boy breakup.) Anyway he is so freaking hot. Seriously, he has the best body of any guy I've ever even come close to dating. Times 5,000. Can I emphasize this enough?


Anyway, things faded away (like I said, never anything worth writing home about for long-term possibilities) and that was that. But tonight he told my old roommate (we're both friends with him) how fabulous I looked tonight. She said he kept going on and on about how different I looked and how amazing I looked, etc., etc., etc. He even asked her if I had a boyfriend!! How awesome is that?


I don't want to date him or anything and I'm not even sure what his dating status is at the moment, but it was soooo damn satisfying to hear he said those things considering current events. I can assure you girls, J is not half as appealing as this guy is, at least physically. (Well, maybe half. )


I'm not one of those girls that gets validated by male attention but even I have to admit it felt good to be admired by someone I consider so physically superior to most guys I date. Especially considering I've recently been turned down by "The Crackhead" (my new nickname for J). J will never know it and frankly I don't care because man! I feel good.

I'm glad you had such a great night!  A wine tasting party sounds so fun. I'm jealous!  None of my friends have fun parties like that.  It's always nice to get that reminder that your hot, even if you aren't into the guy.  He sounds fun and you say he's hot.  He must have friends who are like him.   Maybe you should hang around him more. :)


Blubirde, don't you even worry about J anymore.  You are going to find someone so fabulous eventually; I know it.  And you are cool enough to enjoy the single life in the meantime!

Ooooh....that is such a great feeling to overhear someone talk so highly of you!  Yay!  And the BEST part is that feeling "I know I could have him if I wanted.  But there's someone out there that's better for me."

Fabulous! Ride this high and enjoy it. I know you have TONS of self-confidence but sometimes it's just so nice to hear it (albeit secondhand) from others.

I didn't post in your "he screwed it up" thread, but I was so, so disappointed. You are a great girl and when the right guy *does* come along, it's going to blow his mind that a catch as good as you is not taken. *hugs*

Maybe just for a night or something but nothing more than that. He's seriously messed up when it comes to relationships and I wouldn't touch that with a ten-foot pole.
