Jen you are really good with exercise so I was hoping you could help me out. Do you have any websites that have exercise programs/ exercises in them that I can do in my apartment with some weights? I want to tone up as I do my daily cardio. My apt complex has every cardio machine imaginable but they lack on the weights area and I don't need/want to join a gym.
One last question. Yesterday after working out (45 min on treadmill - 20 min jogging 25 min walking) and 20 min on the exercise bike I finished and started feeling really sick to my stomach. I made sure to drink lots of water before and during exercise but I know something is off. Am I missing carbs/protein/sugar right after work out that I should eat/snack on right after?
I get sick when I over do it. Maybe that's it? Also, try to think about what you ate before and how soon to working out you ate it. I know that I need to eat about an hour before I work out but not any later or I'll get sick. Fruit is good for this. I usually eat a banana. After I work out I drink a protein shake asap. Studies have shown that you have an hour to get that protein in or you actually decrease muscle mass so you might as well have done nothing. I'm not as strict about it if I just did cardio without lifting but it's still a good idea since the cardio sculpts your leg muscles. hth!
Thanks. I think yesterday I ate and then went to work out. I'll try adding the protein. That is what I was thinking this morning but yesterday I went for the carbs which didn't really help.
I agree that you probably just overdid it. Thats a lot of cardio- i sometimes run 10 minutes, then sprint at the end, and have to throw up. Haha. This happened to me all the time when I overexerted myself during cross-country.
