Help with a True Blood costume (party next wkd!)
Permalink Closed

Hi ladies,
I'm going to a True Blood costume party next Saturday and need help with my costume.  I'm going as Claudine (Sookie's fairy godmother).  On the show she wears these long, flowy chiffon/tulle/lace wondrous frocks.
I found out all their outfits are from European designer Trash Couture and cost thousands of dollars so obviously that's out of the question.   I've scoured ebay and etsy and haven't found anything quite suitable.  Does anyone have any ideas?
Worse comes to worse I do own this Rodarte dress  & think with tights I could maybe make it work?

Does anyone have any ideas of what else I could wear?
Thanks!

Use the dress you have. I tend to make costumes out of things I already own (i hate spending cash on something I'll never use again.)

Since she's supposed to be a fairy, maybe you could dust your skin with a soft glitter powder to make your skin sparkle. And do your hair with soft waves like the actresses on the show. Since she talks a lot about her "light" on the show, maybe you could carry a glass with a string of battery powered white Christmas lights in it so it glows?

Love that you chose Claudine.  You'll stand out in a sea of Sookie and Taras.

Def work w what you have! It's so pretty.

Maybe it's just me but I don't even remember Claudine and what she looks like! Would you consider adding wings since she's a fairy? or is that cheesy? Just trying to think of ways to make it more recognizable.
