STYLETHREAD -- LET'S TALK SHOP!

I don't currently live in Austin anymore, so I don't know what's there. I'm trying to find a place to give my mom a makeover as a gift. My mom seriously needs a new cut and color, as well as an updated makeup look. Can any of you austin ladies recommend a salon in Austin that does hair and makeup. I'm looking for a place that isn't too pricey, and with stylists who know what they're doing. I need someone who will look at my mom and go "You need this and this, and this cut would be great for you." I don't want a place that's gonna go "What do you think you want." My mom don't know, that's why she needs a makeover. Anyway, your help is much appreciated!
