Sorry, I am at home on a Mac and couldn't cut/paste the image.
I fell in love with this dress, and now I am in a pickle. My husband/stylist and I went shopping for a dress for a friend's rehearsal dinner next weekend. I want this dress, but he voted no because he thought it was too "fall." He also said it would just sit in my closet after I wore it. BUT the stylish SA pointed out that I could:
- wear it with tights, boots and a chunky sweater in the fall - dress it down with a denim jacket, flip flops, etc...
Would you do any of these things? Would I be trying too hard to get more wear out of it? Is it more of a "stand on its own" dress? AND is it too fall-ish to wear next weekend?
I have another dress in the exact same cut in a summer print, so my other option is to wear it and spend $200 on something else.
I love it! And would totally wear it with chunky cardi sweater, tights and boots.
This sweater I just got from Nordies would be perfect!
And I also like the denim jacket and sandals idea (not sure about flips, it would depend). And I think you could wear it next weekend, it is the end of August so more transitional stuff totally works. Buy it!
i think it's definitely an end of summer dress, but since it is the end of summer it could totally work. i think either of the options the sa suggested would look totally cute.
I would wear it in fall ala August lucky, knee socks peeking out from under boots, chunky neutral sweater, and a scarf. And I definately think it would look cute with a denim jacket and flip flops.

I would get it. You could so totally wear that in the fall with tights and sweater. Or what if you wore it over a pair of torn jeans with a sweater and chunky beaded jewelry.

That dress is really really pretty. It's more trainsitional, but since it's already going to be late August at the rehearsal dinner, I think this would be very apporpriate.
I would do both of the looks the SA suggested in a heartbeat...also maybe a miltary-ish jacket and a cloche would look really cute with knee night boots or even round toe pumps.
Wow! I love that dress!!! I would wear it any time of year w/ exception to spring. I think the accessories will make a huge difference in whether it works for summer or fall. I hope the SA meant tall sleek boots. I'm imagining tall crock boots in chocolate brown. Yum!
Hooray! Thanks for all you great suggestions. And thanks for adding the pic, fashionprincess. It's on hold, and I will pick it up tonight. All your recommendations are items I want to get anyway - love the cardigan and military jacket idea. I also came across these,
Although I'm not sure if I am daring enough for the sweater.
