I have a ridiculous amount of stuff in my work bag (which is a large lavender tote):

  • A smaller bronze purse (so I don't have to lug the big bag out to lunch). The purse contains: Wallet, checkbook, cell phone, inhaler for asthma, eye drops, Loreal Color Juice Lipgloss, Aleve (for my back), Excedrin Migraine, keys, sunglasses (all of which makes it sound much larger than it actually is--it's a small purse, I promise!)

  • My portfolio

  • A sketchbook

  • Sketching pencils

  • A bead catalog

  • Life & Style Magazine

  • Hello Kitty day planner

  • A notebook (my 'Idea Book')

  • A folder with my class information for this coming semester

  • A bottle of water

I just thought of this post because I'm about to clean out my purse because I can't find anything anymore!  I thought this would make a fun game of it.

  • Make-up bag with all the make-up and brushes I use, some of it actually doesn't fit in the make-up bag so it actually is all over my purse, too.  I'm not sure why I carry it all around.  I rarely touch up during the day and even when I do, I don't use all of it.

  • An empty envelope that had a check from my dad in it.

  • Sunglasses

  • My "winning" scratch off ticket from my fave Japanese restaurant that's supposed to get me a free entree.  It's weird, but whatever I order never counts.  It's been 2 times now; next time I complain!

  • Palm Pilot

  • brush

  • 2 pens

  • Nordstrom Rewards certificate

  • Tampons.  One, inevitably, has come out of its wrapper.  Ew!  Throwing that away.

  • Receipts

  • 3 Post-it note pads

  • Luggage claim ticket

  • Cell phone

  • 2 nail files

  • Debit card

  • keys

  • Listerine FreshBurst

  • Business card from this guy we were hanging out with in Vegas

  • A few of my business cards

  • Work ID

  • Make-up pencil sharpener

  • A pin advertising a book my company publishes

  • A 50/50 ticket for a drawing that took place in June

  • Aspirin

  • A postcard reminding me about a survey I participated in.

  • Registration

  • Insurance

  • Driver's License

  • 4 different boarding passes

  • Credit cards

  • Gift card to Coconuts (music store)

  • Coupon for a free carwash

  • $10 gift card to BR

  • The card key for my room at New York, New York in Vegas

  • The card key for my room at the Marriott Wardman Park in DC

  • A gift card to Coach

  • A business card from that cheap guy I went out with in the beginning of the summer

  • Room bill from New York, New York

  • Dry cleaning ticket

  • $44.07

I'm sure nobody is going to read through all of this, but it was fun to see all the crap I keep in my bag in writing.

I have to ask this - why in the heck do so many of you carry around your digital camera in your purse? I have NEVER thought "gee i wish i had a camera right now" - ever. The curiosity just may kill me.....

Uhhhhh...does threadstyle count?

Seriously, though, I take pictures of random things for fun...like I am always worried about seeing something inspiring and then regretting not having a camera around. You never know what's gonna happen or who you'll crash into. Plus my digicam isn't very large anyways nor is it heavy so it's not a big deal.

I don't carry mine around, but a lot of times I find myself wishing I had it!
