I'd like to order these pants for our trip to NY next month (and to wear on weekends this fall).  For some reason, I can't seem to make any decisions today...this is such an easy question, but...black or charcoal?  I'll be wearing them during the day while we're exploring around the city.  I'll likely be wearing them with some black flat shoes (still haven't decided on which ones - probably the pumas halleybird posted or some merrills I'm going to try on) and some pumas I have that are grey (mesh) with gold leather on some parts and some red stitching accents (the cat and "puma")...not a very good description, but the grey mesh part is pretty light.  Anyway, on top, probably just random tees/tanks and cardigans and my denim jacket.  I like the charcoal, but don't want them to look too too casual/sweatpant-like.  Please help me make this ridiculously easy decision...thanks!

I love the gray, in fact I have them in my UO "shopping cart" right now and I'm planning on buying them soon.  But, I think what color you choose depends on what you're planning on using the pants for.  I think the gray is a little more casual and the black could be dressed up a bit.  I do think the gray is a little "sweat-pant like" so if you're looking for something a little less casual I think you should go with the black.
