question about this blouse
Permalink Closed

Today is my b'day and I have some b'day money burning  a hole in my pocket.  Spending it won't be breaking the shopping ban will it?  I am seriously thinking about this blouse.  Is it true to size?  I think a couple of you girls have it so I wanted to be sure before I placed my order.  I usually wear a M or an 8 in tops.  Occasionally I can wear a small depending on if it is vanity sizing.

I just got it and it runs true to size.  It's SUCH a pretty top and it goes with a lot of things--definitely a good buy.

I'm going to give a completly honest review.  I ordered the top and the next day had to send it back.  It was a pretty top.  I loved the colors.  I wasn't crazy about the silk material at all.  But that wasn't the reason I sent it back.  I ordered a 4, which is the size top I normally wear.  I may have a weird shape, but I didn't really think that was the case.  I have a 34D chest and when I put on the blouse that's all you could see. I was busting out the top, my husband liked it -but NOT to wear out!   In fact, as far as the fit goes, I probably needed a 2 in order for it to look right in the waist and a 8 in order for it to fit in the chest.  Obviously I was VERY disapointed.  It's definetly worth trying on.  I hope it works for you, it is a very pretty top.

What is the silk material like?

It's kind of a thin silk.  I don't have any problems with the fit, but I have a 34B bust.  I can see how if you have a larger bust, it might pose a problem since it has a crossover top, which might gape a bit.

I have it, and it's true to size for me, but I am a 4 with a smaller chest (34B).  I wear a lace cami under it, just because it does dip a little low.  The silk material isn't shiny, but it's very thin and delicate.

I bought it because it's different - nothing had been catching my eye until I saw it, and I think it will be a good fall transition piece.  I plan to wear it the a wedding rehearsal dinner next friday with this skirt:

It looks faded in the picture, but it's a dark chocolate brown IRL.

I thought it ran slightly big.  The 4 was HUGE on me, and I'm usually a size 4.  I would have needed the 2.  Its hard to say though- since we're now all so used to vanity sizing that we might think of something as true to size.  I'm probably a true size 6 in terms of high end designers, and a 4 at mall stores.

Oh yeah - I'm a 36C and it was very "Hello" on me too. Plus I have broad shoulders (usually I have to wear a large in tops) and it was too tight in the shoulder area. Too bad...I was already planning outfits for it. I'm envious of you girls who will look smashing in it, because it's really beautiful!
