I have much darker skin right above my upper lip...and it's not from facial hair since my hair is blonde there...think it's from the sun? but this has never happened to me before and i always have spent time in the sun. I'm confused...don't know how/why this happened? and i don't know how to fix it ASAP! It looks like i have a mustache   Anyone know of anything that i could use to fix this/cover it up? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Thanks Collette...I was just hoping for something a little less expensive! But I just may need to resort to this! I was wondering if there was some type of illuminating concealer/foundation around..but I'll check into this...think I saw it on Amazon.com for about 35 bucks..hmmmm. Thanks though

Do you take a birth control pill?    Darkening of the skin above the upper lip is one of the possible side effects.

Oh no!! I do...but i have been for awhile now..and never noticed this! But I did just switch pills...wonder if sun exposure brings it out? eww..i hate this! If I were to switch pills again, I wonder if it would go away?? or is this permanent?? Guess for now i need to find something to cover it up..  Thanks for the help..

do you apply a moisturizer with sunscreen on your face.  I know my friend did this once and always forgot above her lip- and that happened eventually.  If you think its a tan, I would try putting sunscreen on that area only for a while, and maybe even out with self-tanner on the rest of your face?

I don't really know much about it other than the fact that it is a side effect.   Maybe it is due to a combination of switching pills and sun exposure?

I found some discussion on Make-up alley about this.  It seems like people's experiences are all over the place.

Thanks a lot for the help..I think my pill is why this is happening--not the sun so much. I actually just called my doctor to try to switch pills...hopefully this will work! but for the meantime, i'll have to find a makeup that covers up my little "mustache!" ughhhhhhhhhh
