Bargain Sources - NY Stores
BURLINGTON COAT FACTORY coats, suits, dresses, & more from world class designers at affordable prices
so these sample sales are they new stuff at that much of a discount? please explain. i have never been to one since i'm from pittsburgh and now live in south carolina... we just have malls. crappy ones at that.
it depends on the sale, though they can run the gamut. usually warehouse sales (barney's, big drop, intermix) involve the store clearing out all their sale stuff and putting it in one location.
a sample sale in the truest sense is when the designers samples (usually in very small sizes, and sometimes of questionable quality) are sold for a steep discount. ime, i've found that most of the sales listed are just extra merchandise from the current season that they didn't sell to retailers offered straight to customers at a discounted rate.
however it's still hit or miss, i've trekked across town to go to a sample sale only to be sorely disappointed by the pitiful selection. and even though the prices are cheaper, they're not ridiculously cheap (in most cases).
