Anyone been there?  I'm trying to plan a trip there over labor day weekend.  Does anyone have any recommendations on which parts of the OUter Banks to visit?  I'm not familiar with it at all, but have heard from several people that the beaches there are nice.  Thanks!

That is where I got engaged! The beaches are beautiful. Everything is beautiful there. You will have a great time no matter where you go.. We stayed in Cape Hateras.. Duck and Nags Head is also very popular with people I know..

I stayed in Corolla about 10 years ago (wow, can't believe it was that long ago) with my 7th grade best friend.  It is farther north and very quiet, but we stayed in an UNBELIEVEABLE beach house.  They are so nice, the huge multi-family homes.  It was great for a quiet week at the beach, the waves are pretty big (much bigger than southern North Carolina/Myrtle beach area anyway), and everything is (or was anyway) very unkempt and natural.  It was nice, pretty, and relaxing.

Bald Head Island is amazing. You have to take a ferry over there, but it is worth it. They only allow golf carts on the island so it is a nice break from all the hassles of cars. It is also where Cape Fear is.

Thanks for the advice girls!  Chic, I have heard about Bald Head Island from others as well.  I'm definitely going to check it out.

Yeah, we changed our plans.  But I'll keep this post for future reference b/c I want to go there eventually.
