Help Me Pick My Fall Wardrobe From BCBG..

ok girls, while i love the girls that i work with with, i also value your opinions maybe even a bit more than theirs, but don't tell


....on thursday i will be buying my fall wardrobe with discount from bcbg...what are your picks....here's what i'm thinking:


#1 these cropped pants


 


#2 these culottes (they're a tweed and lined), my only issue is that i may not wear them too much, and the bf may not "get" them.


#3 this top i will definitely get (it matches my plum bulga )


#4 these boots pros: i love the style, they look like ysl, they look comfy, i don't have any boots like them (i have all the "necessary" black boots) cons: they're suede so not practical, they'd be around $300, they look like ysl...i don't like knock offs

#5 this jacket has matching cropped pants which i am definitely getting, i can wear this jacket with jeans or the pants for a suit


#6 this sweater: i love it, it would be practical, but it fits weird.  i really really want it to work, but should i wait for something better?  the only thing is that a lot of people have been buying it so i don't want it to sell out....


#7 this sweater it comes in black and purple (which color?).  i desperately need sweaters this fall (i'm trying to stay away from all the "novelty tops" that i usually buy since they're not as "practical")


#8 these shoes in black (we're sold out in my size in mahogany )


do i really need them?  it's either these or the boots...


#9 these shoes i loved since i saw them, i'm obsessed!!  (they were in this month's lucky along with another pair of heels that i posted on here a while ago...maybe i should work for Lucky )

I love these- they remind me of those lanvin shoes...did they only come in two colors?  How much are they full price?

I also like the weird fitting cardigan- but I wouldn't get it if it fits weird.  Just don't do it.  I wouldn't get the huge gauchos either.  The zipper sweater is cute if it fits well, but depending on the price- you may be able to find a sweater just as nice or nicer for the same or cheaper.  I wouldn't get the boots if you're undecided- too $$$ when there are SO many cute boots out this season.

Lots of great stuff.  For the shoes, I really love the tall boots and the #9 heels.  I want the heels, but I'm not sure they are practical for me.  I really love top #3 and sweater #7.  I also think #5jacket is so cute.


I'm with your boyfriend on not getting the gauchos thing.


Let us know what you get!  So much fun stuff to choose from.

I love everything!  I'm not sure about the culottes, although it really depends on your personal style.  I think it's kind of hard to judge them based on the picture because I dislike the proportion of that outfit. 


Basically, I think you should get all of it, except the culottes and the weird fitting cardigan (it's awesome, but if it fits weird, it's not worth it).


Also, I have a question about the jacket (#5).  I love it!  Is the vest thing built in?

the only things i really, really like are top #3 (very pretty), shoes #9, and the sweater. the rest of the stuff doesn't really grab me. there are so many pairs of cropped pants out there, that unless bcbg ones look AMAZING on your body, i would pass.


the culottes are too pricey for what they are.


i like the jacket but personally would only buy it, if i could remove the vest thing from the front, just b/c it seems like a look i would tire of after awhile, i wouldn't want to be stuck with it.


i like #6, but if you think it looks funny on, don't get it. you won't wear it.


the wedge boots are overpriced (imo)


i like #7, i'm just trying to figure out what the detail is like. is the zipper off center?

Cute stuff!  I really love #1 - I know you can get cropped pants anywhere, but those are so cute.  I also really like #3 and $6, but like others have said - if that sweater fits you weird, don't get it.  As for shoes, my favorite are #9 and I think you have to get them because you keep posting them!

i really like everything but...



  • the cullottes

  • the weird fitting cardigan- i like it- but if it is weird fitting you'll probably never wear it

  • i think the wedge boots are overpriced and it scares me that they are suede... i always without fail ruin suede shoes and i doubt i would be able to get those boots through one season- but if you them... then get them...

Great stuff, Shopgirl! So cute!


Here's my thoughts.


# 1 - Love these!


# 2 - I would skip these - I definitely don't think they are as cute as some of your other picks.


# 3 - Gorgeous! Esp. with the Bulga!


# 4 - I would get these. They are versatile and beautiful. I have a pair of black suede knee high boots that have help up surprisingly well, too, so you might be surprised!


# 5 - Love the jacket.


# 6 - I would skip it. If it doesn't fit right, you won't wear it.


# 7 - I would actually skip this too. I think you could find similar style at a less expensive store - it seems like everyone is doing the diagonal zipper. Just MO. (Plus, I'm trying to free up money for you to get the other shoes.)


# 8 and # 9 - I really think # 8 pair is soooooo beautiful. I would get these and the boots, rather than pair # 9 if you have to choose. But I love pair # 9 too!

ok, i think i am going to pass on these since i know there will be things that i will be wanting later on...



  • #2- not really me, and don't have long term use, for something trendy, i will find a cheaper version if i want...

  • #4-while i like them, i just don't think they're a good buy and for $300 i can find something i like more.

  • #6- as much as i want it to work because of the color, etc... it's not tailored enough for my liking.

  • #8- while i like them, i would probably get them if they still had the mahogany color, but i have too many black pairs of shoes.

i will get the suit jacket because with the pants it would be less than $120...can't beat that.


 tri_sarah_tops, the vest is attatched.


lynnie, aren't the lanvin's amazing?!  i love them too.  the shoes are $295 (personally if i was paying regular price i would get some MJ shoes, but customers are attacking those shoes) and they only come in black and mahogany that i know of. 


honey the zipper is off to the side, and it is *kinda* military style.  i have several bcbg sweaters (he hasn't made the best styles lately, this year is an exception), and they have all held up amazing, especially since i live in sweaters in the fall/winter. 


shopchicago33 you're right, i do NEED those shoes (#9) since i keep on posting them. 


i think i have replaced #8 shoe with these in all SILVER since i don't own a pair of silver open-toe heels:
