I adore the style of these jackets but they are a bit steep in terms of price for me.  I found a pattern that was close to it (here is the link: http://www.ljdesignsonline.com/sassy.htm ) Well, I traced off my size and cut out a muslin just to check for fit.  Well, it didn't fit like these in the picture so I tried altering it with darts, etc and well,...it is just not going to work out. .  I swore I would never try to make another jacket and now I know why. 


Do you think someone will eventually do a knockoff of this?

that pattern looks pretty close- maybe if you lengthen it a little and flare it more at the bottom, plus take it in more in the waist it will fit better?  Also, it will be stiffer and cuter in real fabric- not muslin.

I have a jacket from BR (last fall/winter) that's very similar. Maybe they'll put out one like it this year? And I'm SURE someone will do a knock-off, if that makes you feel better.
