Not sure what your price point is by I've realized that the more expensive shoes tend to be more comfortable. My Blahnik's and my Louboutin's are really ocmfortable and I can pretty much wear them all night and not have my feet aching terribly

I think it really depends on how the shoe fits your foot. Nine West and Steve Madden both happen to fit the width of my feet and the arch. I usually last longer in those than in other brands. I also like reaction by kenneth cole, and I have tried aerosoles which were really comfy. Overall I think wedges and boots give me more support and don't hurt my feet too bad.
I have to disagree about Steve Maddens - I can't stand in those shoes for very long at all - they kill my feet. But I do agree that Nine West are super comfy for me - I can walk and stand in those for a while. I also 2nd Aerosoles - those are super comfy.
I really think it depends on the shoe. Even within the same label, I've had varying experiences.
Claudia Ciuti shoes, I own three pairs, have consistently been comfortable. I think it's because they pad the lining the inside/base of the shoes (where the bottom of your feet touch).
I have had consistently bad luck with Gucci shoes. I have owned two pairs (both nightmares!). One of I have owned for years and have probably worn for 30 minutes total.
I think it helps when the shoe has a proper sole, is made of breathable materials, and distributes weight properly.
Seychelles, KC Reaction, and some Irregular Choice are super-comfy. I also have a pair of BCBGirls shoes wiht a chunkier heel that I wear when I'm walking a lot.
Also, I agree with Collete, the higher end shoes really are generally more comfy. My Eugenia Kims are in the same price range as Manolos and Louboutins and I literally can walk in them for days.
Shoes with a flexible sole are usually more comfortable. I know Nine West makes a line called FlexSole (or something like that). About 75% of them are ugly, but there are some cute ones and they are insanely comfortable. I have a pair of 2.5" pumps that I could seriously run in.
I also have a few pairs of Fornarina -- they are really comfortable for the height, and always get good reviews on zappos.
