Help picking out slipcover color
Permalink Closed

Hi ladies, I'm moving to a new apartment and get to do some decorating!  I like my old couch, but it's in serious need of new slipcovers.  However, I can't decide what color I want to go with.  The new apartment is a smallish, loft one-bedroom that gets lots of light- I want to keep the airy feeling, so nothing too dark.  It's already carpeted (I prefer wood floors, but these carpets are nice and in good repair) and the carpet is kinda a light tan/off-white color.  I tend to like preppy, cottage looks, but I'm open to all suggestions!  I really love these throw pillows from anthro and would love to find a way to work with them:

I have these curtains from anthro (the pinky/purple), but I'm open to buying new ones (esp. cause I think they will be hard to work with the carpet and the pillows), but... should anyone have any suggestions on how to bring it all together without looking too busy, that would be awesome too! TIA!

I would try to pick up the blue from the pillow.

if you want to keep the airy feeling, i would go with a light tan/off white color slipcover - a little darker than the carpet if it is more white, a little lighter if it is more tan-and then use colorful accents and drapes.

at my house, we have a big open fam. room with skylights and whatnot, and light brown carpet. our couches have always been ivory or some similar shade and i think the room is soo open and airy.
