its been so hot and dry here that my hair is just limp and flat and has no body.  Other than wearing it in a ponytail, what do you do with your hair when it is hot to make it actually look like a hairstyle?

We have the same hair. I'm a fan of the messy bun. I pull it into a low pony tail, divide it into three sections, pin and then tease each section to loosen it a bit. It's a fun style, and since my hair has been so damaged that I can't wash it every day, I can wear it when it's dirty.

Same as Dizzy, except I put it in a higher bun. If I do that when it's wet, and use gel, it's actually wavy when I take it down in the afternoon.

Have you tried velcro rollers for volume?

I have said this before, but I have similar hair & I'd really like to see this messy bun business!!!

When I am at a complete loss, I pull my hair in a quasi - french braid & secure it with a clip like this - only minus the bling. (couldn't find a picture....off subject - how in the world did I get a picture of a naked boob by google searching goody hair accessories? The internet is a scary place indeed).
