would these work as snowboots?

I'm not at all qualified to give opinion on snowboots, since I've been in snow like a total of 5 times in my life. However, I did want to tell you that I think Target has a k/o of the Kors Beaverton.

I think that boot would work as long as the treads were adequate. I am petrified of falling on my butt in the winter so I wear Doc Martens because they have a great sole for ice and snow(i have never fallen in them,knock on wood) They are not sleek or chic but they do the trick. They are not waterproof above the laces though. I think the boots you posted are cute in an "Off I go in my Wellies" way.

Seems like they would keep your feet dry, but I'm not so sure about how warm they would be.

Those are super cute! I've been looking for a good pair of casual, flat boots for a while. I don't know if those would be the best snow boots though. I wouldn't worry too much about them being synthetic because after all leather or suede will just get damaged by the snow and salt, but Cortney and sage make good points about traction and warmth. Warmth problems can be somewhat helped by wearing thick socks underneath but the soles might be an issue.
Maybe you can try to check them out in person first.

I've also been thinking about these $65 Delia's boots which are suede but I probably wouldn't care too too much about getting them mucked up. Again the heel might be a problem.

honey, i have the Kors Beaverton boots and i would not wear them more than 3" of snow because as you said, they are too expensive to ruin in the snow. also, i love them, wear them about 80% of the time, but they have absolutely NO traction, so there have been a couple instances when i almost fell on my a$$$$.

in the winter i wear an old pair of dkny kitten heel boots that keep me warm, and i don't care if i get salt residue on... HTH!

thanks for the input ladies. tread was something i hadn't thought of before. i'm not too concerned about warmth (i have tons of pairs of thick socks), but i want something that will keep my feet dry (i hate having to spend the day in wet socks) and is flat. i want to wear them specifically when it snows so heels aren't going to work that well.

sage i checked out dr. marten and i saw 2 pairs that i like

unfortunately they're sold out of my size in the first pair.

thanks shopgirl - I was really interested in getting the Beaverton.. but I think I'm going to wait to see what cheaper versions come out. I am liking the Delias and Target ones posted above.

The only thing that I think would be a concern for me about getting a leather snow boot is that it tends to look all grey and gross (especially if it gets salt on it). Would you ever consider a fabric one? There were some from The North Face that were considerably less fashionable but seemed tougher and were priced the same as the boots above. If I can find a picture later I will post.
