question about Antik denim
Permalink Closed

one of my boutiques informed me that they are getting some antik denim in next week and they are a consignment shop and they *may* be in my size.  she told me that she thinks she is going to price them at $125!  so, of course, i want them...  the problem is, she is not quite sure of what ones they are... and i haven't tried them on yet.  i wear a 28/29 in Joe's, 7's and Citizen of Humanity.  My Rock and Republics are a 29.  All of my jeans are stretch.  When I tried on True Religion, the 29 fit... but strangely.  I am 5'3 and curvy...

any idea if these jeans will fit cute on me?  she doesn't have returns at her shop, so once i buy, i would be stuck.  there is a chance that one of my local boutiqes would have them so that i could try them on, but the chance of that is slim...

argh!  sorry for rambling... and thanks if you take the time to read this and help me out!

oh! and she thinks they are these ones that i posted above... at least from her description of the jeans to me anyway...

I have heard that these run small.  I would think you would want to go up to the 29.  I love these jeans and have been kind of scared to order them.  I've heard that they are hard to get used to since the pockets are so low.  I suppose you could resell them on ebay if you didn't like them.  Won't she let you try them on when they come in to the store?

I really hate to bust your bubble, but I'm 5' 3" and curvy too (size 4/5 or 27/28 in most jeans) and these looked really really stupid on me. Like when I was in the fitting room I couldn't pull them off me fast enough. They were WAY too long to wear even with high heels...the back pockets rested so low that it looked like my legs were being taken over by butt pockets and the general effect these jeans gave me was of stumpiness.

I think you should still try them on IRL and give them a chance...maybe they'll work on you.

I tried these on because I saw them on so many girls and they looked really cute.  I don't have much of a butt and I thought they would work well, but they looked horrible.  I am normally a 26 and the 26s were skin tight, but they didn't have a 27.  My sister announced that she had never seen my butt look so weird.  Maybe they would have been better in a 27, but I just don't know they were cut really oddly.

i would have her hold the size 29 if she can cuz that will most likely be the correct size, but like Lilykind said, the pockets seemed to go halfway down my legs.  I am 5'6"-5'7" and they looked silly on me too.  i hope they work for you though, i would like to live vicariously through you!

since the TR joeys i tried had the SUPER big pockets like the Antik, i figured i wouldn't like them... but i was hoping b/c they look super cute on everyone else...

*sigh* i guess i'll stick to my tried and true Joe's Jeans...  i really wanted to like them though.  i think i'll still try them on somewhere locally before she gets them just in case *crosses fingers*

i'll

Well if it helps any, here's a thread where I posted pictures of these on me, front and back. I sized up and they were too big, so I'm not sure what to tell you regarding size.... but maybe this will help visualize.
