First of all I NEVER wear skirts, so I'm sort of uncomfortable with the idea. However, I have a couple of events coming up where I really should wear a skirt, but I'm having trouble with color combos.
What color top would you suggest wearing with this skirt? It's actually very pretty on, falls below the knee, form-fitting, very classy. I just don't want to wear a top that matches the taupe shade, any other ideas?
I also have this skirt, and although the accent color is a baby pink, I was considering wearing more of a raspberry colored top like the one below. Do you think that would work?
I like that second combo a lot. The first skirt is really pretty- I'd try pairing it with navy blue....but it has to be that deep, rich kind of navy not just plain old dark blue.
I like Ilovechoo's suggestion of navy blue, probably because I'm on a navy kick lately. I think a rich teal (like maybe in a silk) would look really pretty too. Jewel tones would complement it nicely.

For the second skirt, I would go with a top with a little bit browner shade - I don't think the raspberry works as well as it could.
On the other hand, the raspberry would be great with the first skirt! I agree that any deep rich color would work with the taupe. I actually am wearing a similar skirt today, but with a spring green pattern - I've paired it with an orchid color top.
What about green or lavendar with the first? I think a lot of colors would go well.
Although I've always really liked the idea of skirts, it took me a long time to figure out how to wear them comfortably (now I always want to wear them!). I might try wearing skirts a few times before the events that you have to wear them to, so that you feel more comfortable in them.
