My 13 year old wants to have hair (his dad always wants him to shave it all off). I have stick straight hair and honestly have no idea what to do with his hair.  He got a blend of my thick straight Mexican hair and his dads curly coarse African American hair.  I have him set up for a consultation/cut on Sat.  My only concern is that I'm taking him to where I normally go and told them what type of hair he has.  I asked for someone with experience with that type of hair, but to no surprise of mine they said that they don't normally see too many guys with hair like that.   The barber he normally goes to the guys get two styles, shaved or braided.  I'm just hoping that you girls have ideas, pictures or something for me to suggest to him and the stylist.  Any help is appreciate.  Except please nothing "greasy".

how cute is his curly hair! hmmm i think he should embrace his curls, but maybe cut it a little shorter, and get something similar to Adam Brody's hair.

Oh my bf has curly hair.  he cuts it short in the back and kinda leaves it curly/full in the front.  The trick to curly hair though is to find someone who won't cut across the curl because if they do it won't curl over and style correctly.

Janey, I think he's leaning towards the A.B. hair.  We'll see.


Lsu-Those pics are great!! Where are you guys?  Did I see Florida on one of those pics?  It's gorgeous!


Thanks gals.  We have another day so hopefully there will be more than just two options for him (although their both great)  I think that his hair is more like LSU's man so we'll see which cut fits him best. Thanks a bunch.
