Okay, my manager from AE is having her wedding next Saturday. A couple girls from work are going. This manager informs me on all the details of the wedding everytime we work together. I've known her for about a year. We are friendly but then again, she's almost 20 years older than me and we're not exactly friends since she's my boss.
Anyhow, that same Saturday as it turns out is the only day (don't make fun of me cause I'm a dork) I can go to the world's longest yard sale in Ky (I'm in MI). I've been wanting to go and looking forward to it since the beginning of the summer.
Now, do I go to the wedding (just the ceremony) or to I go to Kentucky? I know it would be nice to go to the wedding but I kinda don't want to-this is my last summer working there and I'll probably never see her again unless I go shopping in there. This may be selfish but I really want to go to Ky. I saw a show about it early this summer and I've been planning on going since until it just hit me that they're on the same day. I haven't told her if I'm going or not, I assume she thinks I am but I never signed up to go so I don't know. Opinions please!
Is that the yard sale featured in The Look for Less $20,000 challenge?? I think you should definitely go to the yard sale. I would never go to the wedding of someone I barely know over something I've been waiting for all year. Just make up an excuse (don't tell her its because of a yard sale. That might not sound right...) and send her a card and a small gift. I wish I could go to the yard sale too- that looks awesome!
*sigh* Thanks girls, I was hoping you'd say the yard sale! Yes, it is the one featured on lucky-hello vintage clothes! Also, I am huge on shabby chic and that yard sale just screams Rachel Ashwell!
Definintly the yard sale. She's not even your friend. I wouldn't be surprised if she invited her employees just to get gifts or fill up seats at the wedding! I would never buy my boss a gift either.
