I have been tjmaxx a couple of times, but I always feel overwhelmed when I walk in.  I see some of the fantastic stuff you girls get from there, but I don't know where to look.  How is it organized?  I am planning a trip there next weekend and would love some pointers if you have any.  I am mainly looking for dress pants and some interesting tops.

it's usually sectioned off.  juniors clothing, misses, petites, active wear, mens..u get the idea. then within these sections theyre sectioned off into jeans, skirts, tops, etc.  they have a section for shoes, accesories, home stuff, kids.  even though they are sectioned off, all the stuff is basically on long racks, crammed in. so u have to devote a fair amount of time flipping through ths stuff. have fun!!

With TJ Maxx you have to be prepared for digging.  If you want Express, A&F or AE stuff you look in the juniors section.  You can also find Blue Cult, Sevens, & Paper Denim & Cloth in the juniors section.

For BCBG, James Perse, the Limited, or French Connection and stuff like that you have to dig in the misses section.

Shoes are pretty easy to navigate.  Wallets are usually a mess so you have to dig under the crap to find the nice name brand ones.  I got my lovcat one there that way and I've seen nice coach, dooney, and cole hann ones but they were buried.  Also dig around in the purfume area because I've found Urban Decay and Too Faced makeup mixed in brand new never opened (see sephora.com if unfamilar)

I TJ Maxx!  You will have to be prepared for some digging (as stated above) and I would definitely take a pass a both the womens & the juniors sections as they do have different brands/styles within each.  They are at least separated into sizes, though I usually check the size sections on either side of my own as well just in case something got put back incorrectly.  Also don't forget the clearance racks (in the shoe and bag depts. as well) b/c you can score some awesome stuff for even cheaper than it is normally!

My TJ Maxx's in Denver also have quite a selection of Free People, Abercrombie, AE, and Max Studio stuff, FWIW.  You never know what you'll find there . . .

Thanks everyone for the pointers.  Do they have the same things in the stores as they do on their website?  I posted a couple of tops yesterday from their website and would really like to see them in person.

I am planning on devoting the whole afternoon of my shopping trip to TJMaxx.

A wise woman you are !  Usually they get in a stock of a few things (you'll know them when you see them - lots of them in all different sizes and colors) and that's usually the stuff you see on their website.  I find I'm often dissapointed in that stuff quality- and fit-wise, but not always.  Def. a try-and-see kind of store, and beware of the cheapie brands they have as 'filler'.

Going to TJMaxx is a hit or miss for me.  Usually every other trip will I find something fabulous to buy.  My most favorite find was about 4 years ago.  A chunky light aquamarine color sweater that had a mock neck and kangaroo pouch pocket.  I wore it to death.  Oh how I wish I could knit!  I would make one in every color.
