Have anyone you girls been to the Exhibit yet?I've made plans to go next Saturday before they take it down.............I'm very excited!

i went a few months ago--it's great!  it's surprising to see how modern a lot of the older clothes look because they are so simple and made so well (and also because evening wear trends are so cyclical).  it was very crowded when we went on a saturday, so i'd maybe try to go early, like when the museum opens.  have fun!

i actually don't know--i would call and ask.  it's not a dumb question at all.  because of the way the dresses are displayed on mannequins, i would imagine that camera flashes might possibly damage antique fabrics.

You can bring a camera into the Met and take pictures without a flash, however I think the policy is different for special exhibitions and you usually aren't allowed to take photos in those galleries.

I went to the exhibit, and in all honesty I was disappointed.  We went on a weekday and it was so overly packed.  We were literally cattle being herded through the exhibit.   And I actually felt that the exhibit was too self-promoting.  It almost felt like I was walking through a huge Ad.
