and now i think i'm going to buy one, but will eveyone think it's fake?


i think i want the speedy 30, but any other suggestions would be great.

People may think it's fake, but you will know. I say if you are going to do it, don't get the cherries - too dated (plus the little faces freak me out), but that's just my opinion. I'd get something more classic. Personally I like the Alma / bowling bag best.

me too!  i want to get the speedy 25 and the BF said he would get it for me for christmas this year.


do it... you'll know it is real and so will the "LV Experts"!  thats all that matters!

Personally, I am against the whole LV thing. I think that too many people have it and not enough of them are real. Please know that if you love it, get it. Don't worry about what people think.


However, I like the 1st speedy the best. It remains the most classic of all of the bags.

I loooooooooooooooove the shape of that Speedy bag...I've been coveting it awhile myself.  The cherries are cute, but if you see it in person, the cherries have little happy/sad faces that are kind of disturbing.  I think the cherries are also less classic than the original LV logo--in other words, the classic bag will stand the test of time and the cherries will be "out" sooner.


I wouldn't worry about others thinking its a fake--if you like it and think you'll get a lot of use out of it, then get it, by all means.

I like hte Speedy 30 best, and then the Alma.


I have a Speedy 25 and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I probably won't ever buy anything else momgram ever again, but I do enjoy having one piece that will stand the test of time. Plus the handles on yours will age and give the bag more character...which won't happen in a fake. All the girls who know LV will know that you're carrying a real one and that you're not a poser.


I am scared of the cherries on the second bag though...the faces are sinister.

I would never buy one.  Plus they are overpriced.  When anybody is carrying one, I always assume it's fake since their isn't a LV store around here.  Well, maybe one is Seattle but I don't shop down there so I don't know.  They probably bought them on ebay and think they have real ones!   What's worse is those mega fake-o's, I saw one in Ross the other day.

I say go for the 30! I wouldn't worry about anyone thinking its fake though, usually its pretty obvious to me when I see them.

The Speedy is a nice, classic shape that's been around forever.  I have the new Theda, and I think it's so cute and very modern looking.  I also like the Alma, but it's not as floppy as the Speedy.


 


p.s.  I think even the people who carry the bad fakes can tell a real one.  The leather just looks different, and so does the canvas.  Plus the interior is different on the real thing.

You should get it! I am not crazy about monograms in general, but the speedy is so classic and will last forever. And in 5 years, when everyone's moved on to some other bag, yours will still be real and looking great. Plus, the real ones get that great honey-colored handle.  Someday I want an epi speedy....*sigh*


Also, they keep raising their prices, so it's the cheapest it'll ever be.


I love the Alma, too, but for some reason I don't like it in monogram. And no freaky-ass cherries, please.

i agree with the others. i definitely think the speedy is a classic, and regret not getting it 4 years agon when i first wanted one. the price keeps going up, so if you want one buy it now.

I'm 5' 3" on a good day and while I love my 25, I would love to be able to rock a 30. But it makes no sense to own two of the same bag in different sizes.


I think the only reason to veer away from the 30 is if you're super petite (like 5'0" and a size 00 at Abercrombie or something)


ETA: If you want to have an idea of how the Speedy looks when it's being carried, I've got a pic in TS. HTH!

I happen to own the Petit Noe and love it!Like Lilykind and few others said,the first dead give away is the fact that the leather (vachetta) starts to turn that beautiful honey color after only a few wears.I personally like the size of the 30.I wouldn't be to discouraged about the fact that it is monogrammed....IMO Vuitton started taht whole thing.After Coach, Dooney and even XOXO (woof) stop making their versions of signature and monogram...Louis Vuitton will still be around.Check the stats.........The name has been around for years.....those own LV can spot a fake 3 miles away!
