I like the second one better. The first one looks a little first grade art project to me. The second one is more unique and elegant I think.
I don't see how the first one looks anything like a first grade project. Just because it's a single strand doesn't mean it's juvenille. Plus when I was in first grade, we sure wouldn't be working with metal with settings! String and dyed noodles was it. I love the first one, the second one could only be worn on special dressed up occasions.

I think it depends on how you plan to wear it. The first is better for casual things, the second is more elegant and dressy. Both are gorgeous, though. Great pick.
I agree that both are pretty. I think you can pull off #2 with a casual, but it just depends on how much of a "necklace" person you are. I prefer a single strand, no muss kind of necklace, so I would pick #1. Very pretty though.
