trashy? bra straps..
Permalink Closed

i have a top that is low cut, but i do not personally feel comfortable going braless, i have a black lace bra that i wear with it, a la carrie bradshaw.  just to give you an idea, the top is flowy with very thin straps, and is also black.  do u think this is trashy?  i also have a very small chest, 34A. any opinions?

I wouldn't wear that in front of my in-laws or say, to the WHITE HOUSE (flip flop reference, sorry!) but I think for a night out on the town / dinner with your man or friends it is fine. Very a la SJP.

Not at all trashy! If it is,... then you can call me trashy for doing that sometimes too!

I have a feeling many people will disagree with me, but I do think showing a bra strap is "trashy" if it is very noticeable, especially if the hook closure shows.  If it really bothers you, maybe you could wear a black bra with very thin straps, to kinda match the straps on the top.  I think that is fine.  I also think it is ok to do with those layering tanks and tops, because there are already more than one strap (know what I mean?).  JMO, but I am pretty conservative about bra straps showing, so take this with a grain of salt!

Usually I don't like this, but with a black top and black bra, then I think it is okay for casual purposes.

I'm all about showing the bra. Go for it.

I think it's fine since they are both black.

thanks for the input ladies, i guess i should have clarified, i meant more like the lace part of my bra slightly peeks out because the top is so low cut.  its kind of like how mandy moore wears her shirts sometimes? i don't know if i am explaining this right.  anyhow, i did decide to wear it like this because i am small chested and it was for a night out, not during the daytime. anyway, any thoughts about that?

I have no problem with some bra showing.  I actually have a pink bra that has lace up the front straps.  I love to wear it with a spaghetti-strap green tank so that the pink lace on the straps shows.  I think it is totally SATC.  Sorry if everyone thinks I am trashy
