frye harness boot sizing/fit
Permalink Closed

when you all bought your fryes, how did they fit when you first got them?  i tried them on in a 6 1/2, which is my usual size, and the length was good but they were a little narrow and tight across my foot.  the salesperson wasn't too knowledgeable about the fit.

i'm sure they'll stretch, right?  i would like to be able to wear medium thickness socks with them in winter, but i don't want them to be huge and clunky.  so is it better to go a little tight as they will stretch, or should i size up to a size that i could wear a sock under from the beginning?

thanks.

In my experience, frye's have always run a bit big on me...  They should stretch though.  I would try on a pair in 1/2 size larger, or ask to try on another pair in your size - maybe it's just the pair you tried on?

Hmmm, I agree with detroit.  They run big.  I got a half size smaller and they still feel a bit roomy.  I would definitely try on another pair.  Which store were you at?  I just don't know if I would wear them enough to break them in that much if they were uncomfortable to begin with.

i was at nordstrom (taking advantage of the anniversary sale).  i thought they run big -- i guess i'll wait and try them on when they get more of the brown in. (i had to try on the one pair of white ones they had left in my size).

so yours stretched out after wearing them?
