I'm going to my boyfriend's sister's wedding next month and I just realized that I need an outfit! It's a 4pm wedding in Louisiana and traditional--church wedding and country club reception.
I was thinking some sort of strapless dress with a bolero sweater and cute low heels (I'm 5'9"). I love A-lines that hide my butt/hips. Any ideas for me? I'm trying to stick to $200, although if the shoes are an investment, I'd break my limit.
I found some pretty things you may like. I've never done a dress/bolero sweater combo, but my standby wedding outfit is a dress (either cocktail or evening) and pashmina. As for the rehersal dinner, I would assume it's pretty dressy so I would wear a pretty sundress.
From Ann Taylor... Hopefully not too matchy
$149 + $11.99 + $49.99
Dress is Laundry at Nordstrom on sale and the wrap is Ann Taylor and shoes Ann Taylor loft. Probably not for everybody but I LOVE peach with emerald green.

Bluefly dress, Target shrug, and BR shoes

I know this isn't strapless but I love this dress. It's from Talbots which I know is usually gag-inducing but it was featured in Lucky, Glamour, or Marie Claire and I thought it was so pretty. It would be very appropriate for your wedding, is super flattering, and is only $79. It's silk shantung and is available in pink or yellow.
ooh thanks for the ideas! The dress from Talbots is surprisingly cute... I'll have to stop by next time I make it to the mall. And I love the peach/green combo. What do you think about this? (obviously going over my limit)
I love what you picked out with the peach and green combo with the gold shoes...very cute...for the rehursal dinner I would say go with a nice a-line or pencil skirt and a cute top..
I like all of those suggestions, but I do particularly like that peach / coral & green combo - how pretty! I think it will make you stand out - in a good way. I love that Talbots dress too - I would have never seen that since I don't go in there either...
