I was wondering that too. Someone posted in the weekend shopping thread she bought this New Balance running shoe from the Nordstrom sale. I know New Balance is like really good for running and I own a few pairs (I don't run in them tho...lol) but these are specifically for running, so maybe they're better?

I think asics are the absolute best. The newest "model" is usually over $100 but big 5, dsw, or any where that has the previous style (usually only another color or something simple) are much less. I also like adidas. I like New balance but I find them to be a little heavier. good luck

hehe, that was me.  i really like NB for running shoes, and the 991's are awesome.  they never go on sale anywhere, which is why i totally snatched them up at the sale.  i highly recommend them if you're looking for a good pair of running shoes.

If you're not gonig to run in them, I don't know if it's quite so important, but usually I'd advise a person not to buy running shoes without going to a running store and having a pro help you select one right for your needs, body type, and gait.

I guess if you're not running, though, you're safe going elsewhere. I personally am an Asics girl.
