List good online shopping websites.
Permalink Closed

I'm trying to find some new websites for shopping that I may not know of.  I think it would be a good idea to post some websites that have really good prices, but aren't cheap quality.  Let's skip the obvious ones like Gap and Old Navy.  Are there any great clothing, shoe, and accessory websites?  And if you happen to have a coupon code, that would be fabulous as well.

www.smartbargains.com, they have everything.

www.overstock.com, they have everything as well.

www.swell.com, juniors stuff like Roxy, Hurley, Billabong

You might want to check the Style Polls section. I think there is a thread there about this.

uh... yeah... stylethread? over 600? more than any other site we know of? do you guys ever visit any part of the site besides the forum? go to www.stylethread.com (or click our logo in the upper left) select "shopping toolbox" and our shopping site database is there.  I'm not posting a direct link to it because you guys need to visit the rest of the site! You obviously don't know what you're missing!

I'm too lazy to navigate every page on this website.  Thanks Halleybird, I checked out reesycakes.com and they have tons and tons of store listings with coupons that coupon cabin doesn't even have!  I found some new stores and some fabulous coupons!

um okay then... thanks for the support...

as someone who contributes to the "other" parts of this site (that laziness prevents you from navigating), it's a bit disappointing to read that. kris and taru do a shitload of work to keep this site going, and not just to keep it going, but to make it kickass. (and i *know* that other contributers work really, really hard to come up with interesting stuff each month.)  i'm not just saying this out of personal bias, but seriously there are very, very few sites that offer such a wealth of resources in such an easy to use format. so it's more than a bit disheartening to read that. and understand i'm not fishing for compliments or anything like that. but seriously it's a smidge annoying, especially when a couple of mouse clicks (i know it's difficult) can provide you with the answers you need.

You're too lazy to make two clicks to go to our store list, but you can take the time to navigate a different site for a list that is a fraction of ours.  I don't get it.  Well, I guess you reap what you sow.  I'm sorry I wasted my time trying to be helpful.

I agree with detroit and honey and I am a bit saddened when I realize that some people only visit the forum, because the girls who work on the actual web site really do work hard and produce, in my opinion, work that is better than in a lot of magazines and far superior to any other web site I have seen. We have some real talent here, and yes - our shopping web site database kicks ass. So you're only depriving yourself, really. And we do it for you, so it smarts a bit to see you happily waltz off to a competing site without bothering to check this one out. (Not to mention giving that other site free advertising in our very own forum!).

That said, if people are too lazy to make a few clicks (and yeah, I don't get it - it's actually easier to get to on our site than reesycakes, but whatever), there *ARE* shortcut links from the home page of stylethread.com. Look at the lower left of the page. Voila. ONE CLICK. And there are also shortcuts on the home page to each individual features, to the stitch... ONE CLICK. And our database can be viewed all as one list or sorted by type of web site, which is something the other sites don't offer.

Anyway, no we're not looking for compliments or anything, but this post just really struck a nerve with me. Give this site (the monthly issue and the shopping toolbox) a chance, girls - a lot of work has gone into it and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I've got to agree with honey and detroit. This is the only fashion-related (and it's so much more than that) site I use. I wish all the forums I'm on (the others are related to my business) were as easy to navigate, as chock-full of information, and as fun as this one!

I have to say, Cortney, I think your attitude is kind of poor. I (and I know some of the others) haven't forgotten your catty comments when you first joined here, and maybe you are just young and brash - or simply brash - and don't realize how some of your posts can come across as a bit offensive. But I'm nearly to the point where I just want to ignore any posts from you.

Taru, Kris, and everyone else who works so hard on this board for us - I'm sure I speak for many others here when I say we *very* much appreciate you. Please don't think that Cortney speaks for everyone here!

I'm going to jump on the bandwagon with honey, detroit, dc and atlgirl.  It is really dissappointing to read that someone is 'too lazy' to navigate a few clicks around this site, but has the energy to navigate to several other sites and search around those.

This is a great site with great information and great contributors.  As someone who writes for this site, it is even more disappointing to read this.  I put so much time and energy into my articles and it's like a slap in the face to have someone say that they don't really care.   Please be more careful about what you say.  This forum is full of supportive girls and I like to think that they appreciate the work that I, the contributing editors and Taru and Kris put in.  Please keep in mind that the editors and contributors read this and while we can take constructive criticism, this careless attitude isn't right.  This forum is an extension of the content of this website.  Please stop being 'too lazy' and take a look.

This site is sooooo easy to navigate and I love all the monthly features, columns, and the shopping toolbox.  On a couple different occasions, I have visited virtually every site listed in the database and I found some really cool stores that I would have never found otherwise.  I appreciate the hard work that everyone puts in to make this such a great place, and like atlgirl, this is the only shopping/fashion site (other than style.com) that I visit.  I love that everyone is so friendly and that most people are able to state their honest opinions while still being polite and respectful.

I agree with the others, I REALLY enjoy all the colums, articles, newsletters, etc. that I receive each month! This is by far the BEST site I have been to in a long time; you ladies DO do a great job, so please keep up the GREAT work!

I couldn't have said it better myself.  I'm at the same point as atlgirl, where i'm tempted to ignore Cortney posts because of the catty comments made.  This is a great website - every part of it and I value you the hard work that goes into it.  And to say you're too lazy to navigate this website is ridiculous when you're not too lazy to go out and look at other websites.  Why wouldn't you want to take advantage of a database full of the information you're looking for - doesn't make sense to me?  To everyone who contributes to this site - thank you - I know the majority of us appreciate you!

DITTO, DITTO!!!

This is most easy to use style website online.  The info on stylethread is real info that comes from the soul, unlike other sites like style.com.  I have recommend this site to my friends for great fashion and style information.  Great job, again, to all the contributors to the entire website.

I know how I originally found this website was through the huge list of shopping site.  I thought it was great how everything was divided into categories so I wouldn't have to waste time browsing through ones I wasn't interested in.

everyone has basically said everything about how i feel about this site! it's totally the best and the articles are awesome. it's so great how i can come to this site and it offers so many resources for style and fashion. this advice doesn't just mean the forums. the articles are so helpful and creative, and the information available is amazing. also the search tool is seriously better than any other fashion site.

anyway, i probably don't say this enough but i definitely think it everyday. this site rocks. the women who work to keep this site up rock.. and we owe them everything... alot more than 2 clicks.

I also would like to echo the thoughts of the other members and say how much I love everything on this site.  I know a great deal of work goes into everything here and please know that so many of us really appreciate it.  Of course, the forums and shopping list are fab, but I also really, really love the wonderfully written and tremendously insightful articles posted each month. I've even e-mailed some of the articles to friends of mine who aren't as interested in shopping, etc. and they've enjoyed them as well.  The ladies who run this site seem to be some of the most hard-working, intelligent, and, above all, nice chicas around- thanks again for all you do!
