Clothes for the petite???
Permalink Closed

Hopefully you ladies can help me out.  I'm in desperate need of some work clothes for my new job but I can't find anything that fits me ANYWHERE!  Forget about Express, Limited, and Gap...everything is too big on me.  Where do you petite ladies shop?  Recommend any good brands with smaller sizing?  To give you an idea of my size...I wear a 24 in Sevens.  I have a huge problem finding pants that fit my 24/23 waist..but that are still long enough..cause I wear regular inseams.  I'd like to keep any pants under $150.  THANKS!!!!

P.S.  Any smaller tops suggestions would be great too.

I have the same problem. Lets see try Banana Republic Petites, Ann Taylor Loft Petites, Nordstrom junior section, and if you find anything you can always get things altered that is what I do. I wait until Gap prices go down to about $12.99-$19.99 and then take the pants to go get altered.

Oh, somebody does have it worse than me!  I guess I should consider myself lucky to fit into Gap size 0.  I still have a problem with J Crew.  I would like to buy their flannel lined jeans this year.

my sister is your size -- she's a true 23 in Sevens but can wear a 24 (they're baggy on her, though).

Try Theory -- they do make a 00, but you'll probably have to get it on ebay.  Also, try Euro brands (maybe LaRedoute?). Also, someone told me that H&M runs pretty small, but we don't have one here, so she's never tried it.

My sister can sometimes wear Forever21 stuff -- they have OK work pants, but you'll have to try on a lot of pairs to find the smaller ones. If you can get away with khakis, try abercrombie kids. Good luck -- I feel for you!

Mall stores that size smaller or cut for slimmer bodies IMO include

  • Benneton

  • Zara

  • H&M

  • A/X Armani Exchange

  • Bebe

Also, Diane Von Furstenburg sizes small. Alvin Valley pants in a size 32 will save your life (I think that size equals 00)
