I am an Idiot - Bargain Lost!

I popped into a little thrift store near my house yesterday afternoon, but was closed.  I did peek inside & saw the cuttest red & white tube top & straw bag.  Thanks to everyone on stylethread, I instantly thought of the perfect outfit: a Nautical Theme, a full white skirt, espadrille wedges paired w/the top & bag in the window.


Here is where I screwed up: I went back during my lunch hour today & it was still there, priced at $2.75, but I decided to look around a little.  I don't understand why I even hesitated telling the owner I was interested in the shirt in the mannequin.  A group of women walk in and one says, "Oh I like this shirt & I'm takin it!" & pulls it off immediately!  I still could have asked the owner because she was still hesitating 'cuz her friends weren't that convinced & said, "Heh", but I just FROZE!  TO make matters worse, all clothing was on sale today for $1! 


Anyway, I feel soooooooooooo bad, this is going on the "You should have gotten it when you had the chance" List, which is goint to haunt me for a while.


It looked similar to this ON top, it looked very boutique-ish, I don't even remember the brand.  I know it was a woman's name: raquel, ruth??  The only diffence the striped part was solid red and the designs were red.


This is how I planned to wear it

Awww man, that's too bad, BargainQueen, esp. since it was ON SALE for $1.00!!! I like the outfit you WOULD'VE had, but maybe better luck next time.

It is funny you should mention thrift stores and vintage shopping I was just reading the latest stylethread article on thrifting.  I've been a big thrifter and vintage boutique girl for YEARS (ask taru she knows my of my obsession from back in the old lucky forum days).  Just a little hint about that type of shopping throw EVERYTHING you see that has any potential what so ever into your cart or bag or carry all and then sort it out in the end right before you buy.  Like the army never leaves a man behind never leave a cute/semi-cute/not-sure-if-it's cute item behind.  Sorry about your missed fashion momment it sounded so frustrating.  I know you wanted to grab that top from the other woman's hand and run from the store. . .  :) 


 


P.s.  by the way where is this lovely store with dirt cheap prices. . .

That's exactly the feeling I had, dewdk.  The store is somewhere in So. Cali.
