I used to hate that store, because I thought it was over-priced and trashy. And I hate what they stand for, because they only hire thin, tan, pretty girls. Also, I always hated the idea of paying a company to be a billboard for them. There's just no reason to have a brand name plastered onto a sweatshirt. It doesn't make the sweatshirt any more warm, lol.

But now that I already did my rant... I have to admit, I think some of their stuff is SO cute! Especially some of their jeans and other stuff thats technically "basics" but still so nice-looking.

My List of Things I'll try on at A&F, but then buy my favorite ones off Ebay (because you can always get it cheaper on ebay, and a lot of the time it's still new with tags):

Some cute basics I'll buy at the store:

But before I buy anything at A&F, I'm going to check out American Eagle first. I probably won't find some of the special stuff (like that skirt), but in my opinion, I think American Eagle is a less expensive A&F, lol.

All that stuff is really cute!  I love the first skirt.  You should try Hollister as well.  IMO, it is closer to being like A&F than AE is.  I think it's cheaper than A&F.  If not, just ignore me :)

You're right.. Hollister is A&F basically, just cheaper. They are sister stores. Example: a polo at A&F is just under $40, and at Hollister a polo is just under $20 or $25 (only difference is what logo is embrodered on the chest)... I never noticed a difference in quality between the two, but I could be wrong.

totally cheaper at Hollister!  i would def. go there!  i am currently addicted to Ruehl and all of their basics.  The SA there told me they were going to switch to pre-fall stuff soon (as in now i would guess)... If you have a Ruehl- I would go there too!

They do have cute stuff at A&F, but after my last shopping experience I will never buy anything from there again.  I walked in the store, was greeted by some pouty pseudo-model who was absorbed with her cuticles, and then tried to find this belt that I had seen online.  So, I walk through the whole store looking for the belts and finally find them (with no help to the six SA's that were standing there talking to each other) and couldn't find my size.  When I tried to get an SA to see if they had any more, they looked at me like I had five eyeballs and acted like I was disrupting their gab-fest.  Ugh.  I stormed out and won't go back.  Plus (and I sound like an old lady here) why is their music SO DAMN LOUD?!?!  I can't stand it. Ugh!

I hate going into A&F.  I swear they put cologne through the vents, I can smell it 20 feet from the store!  Also, it's not even lit well.  The sales guys and gals or self absorbed girls.  I didn't like much what I saw in there, especially the worn tattered look denim.

I do have a weird soft spot for A&F...I guess it comes from never being able to afford the clothes in HS when I wanted so desperately to fit in. Now that I can...well some of it is really cute but I would never buy my whole wardrobe from there. I really do love their jeans though...they're really the best jeans for my curvy figure that aren't high-end designer. All the jeans posted are really cute...I'm just angry that the price keeps escalating. It wasn't THAT long ago when they were 39.50 regular price for jeans, right?

But I do LOVE Ruehl! It's like A&F with nice people and more grownup looking things (as in things I could actually wear to work)!

I am eyeing some stuff A&F fall stuff for fall too. Part of the reason I don't like going to the store is the loud loud music. At least at Hollister they play better music, but it's just too dark.
