Sunblock recs for my beach vacation?
Permalink Closed

Hi girls! I'm leaving for my little vacation to Mexico tomorrow, and I need sunblock recommendations. I had the Neutrogena UltraSheer, but it wasn't very waterproof when I went swimming. I would like something 15-30 SPF, that you have all had good experience with at the beach/swimming/etc. TIA!!!

I really like Coppertone Oil Free Sunblock Lotion in SPF 15 or 30.  I just used it last weekend when I went swimming and it stayed on - didn't get burnt at all.

I'm a little bit of a sunblock freak. You can really have any kind of sunblock but you really should reapply alot. Like every time you get out of the water.

When I was in Puerto Rico, we went through a bottle of this in half a day. It goes fast!

But I was a bit skeptical about its coverage so I usually applied something else when I knew I would be sitting out fo ra while.

I had these which contain Mexoryl (an ingredient not approved yet by the FDA but widely used in Canada and Europe.. it's supposed to block UVA&B rays better than anything else here). But I bought them on my last trip to Canada.

We use Bullfrog Sunscreen and we don't burn which is great!   The gel is a little slimy feeling when you put it on and try to shower it off but the lotion is great. I get it at Walgreens. http://www.bullfrogsunscreen.com/a_sku2.asp

i like hawaian tropic spf 45 (i know it's more spf than you wanted, i think they might do a 15 too).  it's good as far as being waterproof, but the best part is that it has a great coconuty scent.  i love that's it's protecting me from the sun, but still smells like beachy like tanning oil.
