i will not, repeat WILL NOT, ever in a million years purchase anything from marshall field's again.

on january 4 (yes, 7 1/2 months ago) my husband and i purchased an entire new set of really nice dinnerware from them. the sales lady told us that the pieces were on backorder for 6-8 weeks, but they would ship directly to our home and our credit card would not be charged until they shipped. fine. i'm going to skip over all of the time that has gone by and just say that as of today, july 12 we still have not received our full order, several of the pieces shipped were damaged and a few were the entirely wrong color.

now i'm going to skip over all of the phone calls that i placed to their 800 customer service # in the months that have passed to get an update on my backorder date and bring you to the call i made today where the customer service rep was dumbfounded (much like the cs reps in the previous calls) when i asked for a status. she didn't know which pieces i was still missing or when i would be receiving them. she said that she had no record of what was left to be shipped. she ended with "i'll have to call the factory and call you back". wtf? (oh, and no return phone call of course)

this company clearly needs to get thier s*** together. i feel really sorry for the salesperson who has to wait on me tomorrow when i haul my damaged/wrong color dishes and all my receipts over there because i am not leaving without an definitive answer on the whereabouts of this stuff.

i've had things on backorder before, but it's been 7 1/2 months and counting... this takes the cake. i literally HATE this company. they suck. i'm actually thinking of putting all of this in writing and sending a letter after all is said and done. (i don't know to whom or why... just to let them know they suck i guess) is that even worth my time? i just want to have my complete set of dishes so that i can throw a proper dinner party. geez!

Could you cancel the rest of the order and find the dishes somewhere else?  That sucks.

send it to the Better Businuss Bureau. www.bbb.com I'll bet there are other reviews there too.
