hey girls, just wanted to share my story... so yesterday not only did i decline a trip to vegas in favor of saving money, but i went to sebastian for a hair modelling gig & when we (me & my coworker - we both took half days, shh!) showed up the coordinator told us they were running behind so they were gonna pay us our $50 but we were free to go home. so we got outta there around 1pm and had nothing to do so my coworker suggested a shopping trip up the coast (Camarillo Outlets for those who know). the outlets usually don't appeal to me so i figured i would be safe from temptation & agreed to go. so when we got there we found this new store that had sevens (crystal pockets!), COH, and some brand called Can Kan that was really cute all for 59-89 bucks!! the SA & the store manager spent about 45 min on the two of us having us try on every pair of jeans in the store (all because i showed a little enthusiasm at the prices, they just started throwing jeans at me & shoved me in a room!!). luckily most of them were too short (even the sevens, a little sketchy if u ask me) but i did find one pair from Can Kan that was really cute & fit great & were only $59. i started to rationalize that i had just been paid $50 for nothing so i'd only really be spending $9, but then i thought of my shopping ban buddies & having to face u all w/ a confession & that knowledge actually gave me the cajones to put the jeans back!! the store manager was a little snot too, he's like "oh they won't be here when u get back, they are the #1 seller in the store". luckily that only confirmed my decision cuz if they are the #1 seller then he shouldn't have to pressure me to buy them, he could just rely on someone else coming along! (he also tried to tell me i was a 5 which i repeatedly told him i wasn't & i was so happy to prove him wrong by fitting into the size 3 w/ no problem) anyways, my strength actually helped my coworker too to put her jeans back. after leaving we both were kinda sketched out & were wondering if the jeans were fake, but basically we were just proud of ourselves for not spending money despite total SA overkill!!
Yeah Crystal!! I know that feeling of when you want something but you don't need it! I felt that at the mall this past weekend. I was so glad I stuck to my guns and just bought the things on my list and not all the cute stuff I saw. I felt really good about myself later!
yay Crystal!!! You are my ST girl of the day. Hey we should start an ST woman of the day/week! It'd be so cool. How 'bout it dc and detroit? any takers?
Oh that is a great idea! But how would you come up w/the criteria? How does one win the title?!
Thank you thank you! I was thinking I was a good girl for walking out of Big Lots without the $2 worth of hair accessories I pick up by accident (habit)!!!
But you definately win!

crystal i think i know exactly what store you're talking about--was it called attitudes or something? my friends and i were just at camarillo and i totally remember going into that store. anyway, not only am i oh so proud of you for not breaking the ban, i am 99% percent positive those jeans were fake--esp. the 7 crystal a pockets--the crystals were too big and shiny.
isn't it wild that they just sell fakes out in the open like that? i mean, they could fool a lot of people--my friend's an ip (intellectual property) atty. and she always goes nuts about the consumer's "likelihood of confusion" and in this case i definitely have to agree, i mean it's one thing to buy a knock off or fake knowing that's what you're doing but quite another to be duped! good for you for resisting!
p.s. i will miss you and lilykind tonight, have a blast w/o me and fill me in on all the dancing details!

omg, it totally was Attitudes!!! ya, those 7's w/ the crystal A pocket just didn't look right to me! and the guy was uber-pressuring us. now that i think about it, the jeans had to be fakes. the coh's he showed me were unlike any i've ever seen in regular stores (and not in a good way). oh & they had true religions (which i've never tried on before so i dunno how they r sposed to fit) & they looked weird when my friend tried them on. plus they sold knock-off TR's (same pockets but called something different) in the same store.... how weird is that??? i'm so glad i didn't purchase now! oh & thanks to all those who commended me! we'll miss u tonight, esquiress!!
Way to go Crystal!I resisted temptation today Express several tops and sweaters I wanted were 80% off!I walked out and will not return UNLESS THE BF hands over dividends! Will I be in violation of the ban if he pays?

I don't think so...unless you have the option of just keeping the money instead.

I don't know. Maybe it could be ST girl of the week and everyone could nominate all week long and list reasons why (or it could be private and just the admins could see, whatever). And then everyone could vote? Or agree or disagree? I'm not sure... I'm better at ideas than details!!

Again hijacking. . .
A running board I was reading on the other day had a member of the week that is just chosen by the previous member of the week. Like If Blubirde was the member of the week last week, she would post on monday (or whenever) and say, "I've chosen Crystal to be the new member of the week". Then next week Crystal would choose someone, etc. They used the thread to ask the member of the week questions about herself, which was really nice. Some were fun, random questions, some were more general questions, but the focus was on getting to know more about that member. It seemed like a nice way to find out things you might otherwise never know.
