Finding a roommate

I'm so frustrated. I need to find a roommate and get a place by October at the latest, but I'm not having too much luck. I don't know anyone who needs a roommate b/c all of my friends either live with their bf's or are married.  I've posted on craigslist, but it's not moving to quickly.  Any tips for finding a roommate?

Try housing boards and websites at local colleges.

I'm going through this right now too, and I'm having good luck with roommates.com.  I just signed up yesterday and already I have two places to go look at.  You can be as picky as you want and they will narrow your search accordingly.

The site will let you contact other members for free, but not read any e-mail you receive back.  To get around this, I just give them my personal e-mail when I contact them and ask them to write to me there, that way I don't have to pay.  Of course, this only works if you're looking for a place to move into, I think you'll have to pay if you already have a place, but just need someone to move in.

Good luck!

I found my current roommate on roommates.com and I really like her a lot.  You should definitely try there, but just be warned: if you put a pic up and say that you only want to live with a female men will still try to contact you.  One actually contacted my roommate and asked if she wanted to "do it".  Gross!

Yeah, I'm already on roommates.com and I'm not really having much luck on that.  I think I found someone from craigslist, though.  We've been e-mailing back and forth all day long.  So, hopefully, that will work out.

I had the same thing happen to me.  I requested female only, but got tons of e-mails from guys.  I just deleted them all!
