Late August - Cookout with some old friends at a park. I'm so used to dressing up that it's hard to come up with stuff like this, it's crazy - I know! I' ve don't think I've ever wore clogs before but my husband said not to wear heels (that' a lot to ask!) since we'll be doing a lot of walking and standing around. What do you think of this?
No, I think it's really cute, except for the clogs!!! Those are too winter-y. Wear flip flops instead, or sandals w/ a platform heel, I think platforms are more comfortable than stacked heels. Whatever you decide just make sure they are open toe shoes. You must have some kind of open-toe shoes that are comfortable to walk in!
Very cute, but my first thought is that you are going to ROAST in August in a blazer and jeans!! Do you have any cropped pants or a skirt that would work better...I'd be doing a skirt-and-tank option with flips, myself. FWIW

I'm sorry, it's late September not August. Plus we'd be traveling up north and I was told the average would be around 60. So I was trying to find some "in between" summer/fall clothes to wear. Not 100% sure if we're going yet, just trying to be preparred. We'd be there for a weekend (cookout, wedding and reception) trying to take it one outfit at a time. And since we're not sure if we're going I hate to buy the wedding outfit, but something like this could be worn here in the fall so it wouldn't be a waist.
I really like the outfit as well, esp. for late Sept., and the temp. will be in the 60s, so...... PERFECT! LOL I really like those clogs too, very cute.

Where up north? Because in PA, it's definitely not 60 degrees in late September. It still is in the 80's alot in Sept. I think you would be better off with a peeptoe type of platform and possibly capri pants. The blazer would work if it's slightly chilly as long as you have a cami or a tank top underneath so that you can take off the blazer if you're hot.
It's in or near Boston (I think), my husband and I just started talking about it and it's a relative of his. I was asking about what the temp. would be in order to pick out a outfit for the wedding and that's what his mother informed me. She could be wrong, though she'd never admit it!

I think she's probably right about Boston. It's usually colder there than it is in PA. Given that info, I would say everything is fine except for the clogs. I would still go with a lighter, more open shoe.
Ahhh...I don't envy you packing for a trip to Boston in September...when anything can happen weather-wise. September is usually a very nice month in Boston...it can stay fairly warm..high 70's low 80's...on the other hand there is a chance it could be cold and rainy. I definately recommend packing layers...cardis or blazers over tanks or tees. FYI...I usually continue to wear my darker toned summer clothes into September even early October...I usually don't bust out my true fall clothes (wool, tweed) until Mid October.
