How do you prevent the back from giving you blisters?  Is there some sort of soft tape I can put on them so that they don't rub?  Both my new canvas Delman flats and my Vans slip ons give me blisters on my heels.

If the shoes aren't really tight I put heel pads in the back:

As an alternative you could try to line the back with moleskin (which can be used on your skin or on the shoes):

If I know I'll be walking a lot especially in the heat I sometimes put bandaids on my heels as an extra precaution.

This sounds weird, but masking tape works really well for a lot of things. That's what I used in point shoes when I did ballet, and since then I've started using it in regular shoes too.

Where do you apply the tape?  Along the top of the back of the heel?
