Looking for a school bag
Permalink Closed

I want a shoulder bag thats big enough to hold my books, but I can't find any cute ones that I like. I'm looking for something that looks bohemian. Something that's brown, and strong enough to be shluped around everywhere, but nothing that's heavy on its own, like leather. I really like teh bulga bag, but unfortunatly I can't afford it I need a bag for under 80. Do any of you girls have any suggestions?

Well, this isn't boho or under $80 ($125 i think) but it's a GREAT bag. Longchamp's Le Pilage foldable tote:

it comes in all different colors and is big enough to hold all your books (also great quality, won't rip), and you can use it outside of school too. plus, you can still wear it after the whole boho trend is over.

I bought a really nice canvas tote from Banana Republic a couple of years ago that has held up well for toting books around. They didn't have anything like it this year, but Restoration Hardware had some similar ones! These are now on sale at their web site.

This one only available in blue now ($29):

And these cute stripe ones (NOT available in blue) ($15):

hm, not sure exactly what constitutes  a "bohemian" bag,but sounded like a job for urban outfitters-hope it is big enough for your books?(canvas and leather)$19.99

or,since you said u like the bulga, a Melie Bianco knock-off (there are posts concerning the quality of her bags on the forum)$58 each(faux leather)

in various colors

I'm planning on getting a  Rootote (as soon as a pattern comes out that i fall in love with)

  • they have 3 interior pockets and a hidden side pocket("roo" pocket, perfect for a wallet)
  • they are canvas (=washable)
  • cheap (=collectable) $20-$30, cheaper on ebay

but i don't have one so i can't comment on how long they last- every season urban outfitters has a couple of prints (also www.mixx.us  or

http://www.superplanning.co.jp/rootote/4pocket.html too see various prints)

interior pocketshidden "roo" pocket on side

Those are some cute options, and I decided to check urban, and I really like this one! it's the look I really want, does anyone know what the quality of this bag is? Also, do you guys think I should wait to get it? I still have about 2 months before school starts, do you guys think it'll go on sale soon? I would wait, I'm just scared it'll sell out.

also, I like the bulga knock-off, did the jury come out on the quality of this bag? Is it big enough for school books?

Man I am loving that butterfly bag from UO!!! I went online to look at it (damn shopping ban!!) & saw this one - I know it is over your $80 requirement, but i really like it too

$98

I imagine because it's light colored suede it will get dirty, but I really like it!!

I love the purple one you picked too but I know nothing of the quality.

Emilie--

I saw both the purple bag and the butterfly bag at UO last weekend, and while they are both fairly good quality, I think they would be WAY too small. Maybe I hold more crap in my bookbag, but I think you would need something much bigger.

I like the last one posted.
