NYC Ballet workout

I got this from Netflix and did it last night- I definately reccomend it!

It was fun, and didn't really seem like that hard of a workout while I was doing it. but boy did I feel it later! Also, I immediately felt longer and leaner, and while it killed my abs I feel like I can see a difference in them even after just that one workout.

Thanks ILoveChoo!!!  I've been on the lookout for a new workout video and have been eyeing this one because I'd love to be more long and lean.  Thanks for the review!  I'm off to go get it asap!

How long is the workout and what do you do? What is it like? pilates, aerobics? It sounds interesting. Let me know how you like it after a few more times doing it.

I agree with Ilovechoo, it's a great one! I did it yesterday morning, and by the afternoon I had quite some sore muscles.

Both the NYC workout 1 and 2 are about 1 hour. I personally prefer the first one (I think Ilovechoo is talking about that). The two are structued the same way: warm-up, stretches, abs, floor barre, standing center, reverence (=cool down), but has a small coreography after that I never felt like doing.

I really reccommend it, I feel like my back gets streighter and I get taller!

i got this video about 5 years ago and i loved it!  i just got tired of it after a while and haven't used it since...

but since it was brought up here again, I'll have to dig it out.  I used to have the best pair of legs when I was taking dance in college.  maybe this will help whip my legs back into shape again!

I just tried it too and am so in love with it. It doesn't even feel like exercise, but I was working up a sweat and I could really feel my abs and butt the next morning. I ordered it from Overstock for 14.99 shipped but I don't know if it's in stock anymore.

I bought this last year and use it alot!  But what is really interesting is that my hubby only does the AB portion everyday and he is getting quite a six pack on him.  He runs everday and does pushups everyday too.  Then a few days a week he works out legs and arms on weights, but this video is the ONLY strictly AB exercise he does.  He's done it for about a month and his stomach is awesome.

Sounds worth a try, I'll have to see if my library has it so that I can test it out.

I have #1, but am thinking of getting #2. I read somewhere that #2 is an extension of #1 so I think #1 is supposed to be more basic . So if you are new to the workout you should probably start with 1.

I have both, but I prefer the first. I find that the other one has more elaborated mouvements, but the first one makes me work more, for some reason!

I don't have this video (although now I'm going to have to run out and buy it), but I have always said that dancing is my favorite form of exercise b/c, to me, it doesn't even seem like I'm exercising b/c I like it so much.  Not to mention, it tones every body part and gives me a six pack!

I've done the workout about three times and WOW!  The workout itself isn't too difficult and you don't really work up a sweat.  But I do feel sore later.  And it may be in my mind..because I don't think it's possible..but I swear my stomach is flater already.  Plus I think my posture is getting better.  Even if I'm just making this up..it's definitely motivation to keep at it!!!
